In December 2011, in response to accusations of mishandling of student reports of sexual abuse (most of which had occurred in their home churches when the students were minors) and a concurrent reporting issue at a church pastored by a university board member,[113] the BJU board of trustees hired an independent ombudsman, GRACE (Godly Response to Abuse in the Christian Environment), to investigate.[114] Released in December 2014, the GRACE report suggested that BJU had discouraged students from reporting past sexual abuse, and though the university declined to implement many of the report's recommendations, President Steve Pettit formally apologized "to those who felt they did not receive from us genuine love, compassion, understanding, and support after suffering sexual abuse or assault".[114][115][116][117] The university's mishandling of sexual abuse in the past came into light again in August 2020 when a student filed a lawsuit against Bob Jones University and Furman University alleging both administrations ignored the sexual assault report and expelled the student for consuming alcohol, which is against the Student Code of Conduct handbook.[118][119]

Can We Trust the Gospels? by Mark D. Roberts is a brief and excellent overview of the subject of Gospel reliability. Roberts makes the case that the Gospels can be trusted and hold up very well to the scrutiny of critical scholarship. The author covers a wide scope of topics concerning the gospels and makes the subject matter easy to understand for the layman.
Roberts presents the standards for evaluating the reliability of the gospel manuscripts: 1) antiquity; 2) multiplicity; 3) trustworthy scholarly methodology; and 4) quality and quantity of textually ambiguous passages. He breaks down each of these standards and shows that the gospels pass the test very well. His point here is that we can know what the original manuscripts actually said.
Mark D. Roberts shows that the gospels we have in the New Testament today can be trusted as accurate and reliable. Can We Trust the Gospels can be highly recommended as an excellent and very approachable overview of the subject of gospel reliability. Not only does the author cover a wide subject in a short and readable way, he makes his case very well.
Any law enforcement officers associating with these groups should be treated as a matter of urgent concern. Operating under color of law, such officers put the lives and liberty of people of color, religious minorities, LGBTQ+ people, and anti-racist activists at extreme risk, both through the violence they can mete out directly and by their failure to properly respond when these communities are victimized by other racist violent crime. Biased policing also tears at the fabric of American society by undermining public trust in equal justice and the rule of law.
The most effective way for law enforcement agencies to restore public trust and prevent racism from influencing law enforcement actions is to prohibit individuals who are members of white supremacist groups or who have a history of explicitly racist conduct from becoming law enforcement officers in the first place, or from remaining officers once bias is demonstrated. All law enforcement agencies should do the following:

On this Divine Mercy Sunday, we share stories of how people have experienced Divine Mercy. It is our hope that you will recognize in these stories your own call to trust Jesus, to accept his mercy, and to become an instrument of his mercy by extending love and forgiveness to others.
Here is what came to my mind. This teacher got to know my son as a person and showed him how important he was throughout elementary school. This led to a 12 year old boy having the confidence to independently email her to let her know they were playing football. Finally, Ms. Galloway took time out of her busy night after teaching all day to cheer on the team. Many times, I hear that teachers feel like they aren't able to do enough. That is definitely not the case with a dedicated teacher such as this. I want Ms. Galloway to know how much it meant for my son and the kids on the team that knew her to see her there. I want her to know how much it meant for us as parents to see her there as well. Kids learn best from teachers they admire and trust. It is no doubt that students learn from Ms. Galloway daily!
Jen taught my son for 4 years and is a great outside-the-box thinker. She was the first in ICCSD to use Peer Mediated Instruction to teach him social skills with peers. She communicated very effectively with his family and collaborated with us. During the pandemic lockdown, she worked hard to engage him through virtual learning and supported him in continuing his goals despite all odds. Because he requires adult supervision, she volunteered to accompany him both to Prom and during graduation so that he could enjoy those activities with peers. It was a joy to work with her, we trust her, and we learned so much from her. Thank you.
